INTRODUCTION
This tutorial is aimed at photographic beginners who have just
bought their first reasonable camera and require some help to
realise it`s full potential. You could also be a camera owner
who has been generally disappointed, and could do with a few
tips.
Remember, compacts, even the more expensive zoom types, are meant
for personnal record photography. That, they generally do very
well. They are also meant to be used with colour print film.
Should you become very interested in photography, or have
specialised interests, such as sport, or birds, a compact will
not do. You must buy, and learn to use correctly, a 35 m SLR with
the appropriate lenses and other accessories. They are rather
expensive, unless you find a second hand bargain - and there are
plenty of those about resulting from people who have to own the
latest. Make sure you get a guarantee, then test the gear very
quickly. Do not buy gear that has obviously had professional
use !
Should you become more interested, there are a growing number of
tutorials in this series to help you.
Using the pull down menu, and by clicking on the boxes on each
page, you can move through the tutorial as you wish. The `flick
through the pages` feature on the pull down menu, allows you to
come back at a later date for a refresher if required.
All text files are saved in ASCII format and can thus be printed
